Disability Rights California is a nonprofit disability rights organization, working since 1978 to advance human and legal rights of Californians with disabilities. We strive to create a barrier-free, inclusive society that values diversity and each individual. Our services are available throughout the state and we assist tens of thousands of people with disabilities each year. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of Californians with disabilities and their families benefit from our legislative advocacy, class-action court suits and collaboration with other groups.

We have more than 200 staff and Board members with a wide array of legal and advocacy expertise. They have developed innovative programs for Californians with developmental, psychiatric, sensory and physical disabilities. We collaborate on the state and federal levels with other advocacy groups throughout the U.S.

What we can do for you: We research and outline expected annual and lifetime costs for care over the lifespan, including medical follow-ups, supplies, equipment, medications, transportation, therapy, home care, and long-term residential facilities. Our files have most often involved persons who have suffered catastrophic injuries or illnesses, but may also be disabled children or elderly. We also critique opposing LCPs for legal cases and are available for conferences with all parties, deposition, or testimony.

President’s Choice Children’s Charity is dedicated to helping children who are physically or developmentally challenged. Our aim is to remove some of the obstacles that make everyday living extremely difficult and make it a little easier for the child or family to cope with the disability. We provide direct financial assistance in the purchase of expensive mobility equipment, environmental modifications, and physical therapy and more.
